小国神社 (Okuni Shrine)
The Okuni Jinja in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka was built in 555 and is dedicated to Okuninushi, a benevolent god involved in the mythical creation of the archipelago and a key figure in the famous story of the White Rabbit of Inaba. Very popular with Ieyasu Tokugawa and other members of his clan, it is still the most popular shrine in the ancient Totomi region. It is an especially popular place to pray for good luck, good marriages, or simply to view the autumn foliage.
